daddy cool

My greatest talent is to sing and move my hands at the same time.
It's not something I've thought through;
it's not that I'm trying to do signing. But it's nice – you can move your hands and shape the words.
Shirley Bassey's very good at it.

I wanted to be famous when I was young.
I wanted to be a pop star. I was a shy child
and I had this idea that if I became famous it would be a social enabler.

I found it difficult - I still find it difficult now
- to go up and start talking to somebody. I always think
I'm imposing on them, getting on their nerves. I thought: if I'm famous, people will come and talk to me;
once that's out of the way, it'll be OK.

I'm not very keen on ageing. I'm not keen on the physical decay. I probably am quite vain.

I think you want to try and look OK for the benefit of other people.

I haven't got any phobias. But there are things that I dislike intensely. When a drink leaves a film

on the side of a glass, I find that a bit bad. If I saw somebody drinking milk from a bottle, and there's a creamy deposit left on the glass – I hate that.

Money isn't important, but you have to have enough, so you don't have to think about it.

Thinking about money is a drag.

I haven't sought therapy, but I think it could speed the process of getting through depression.

You can get through it yourself, but speaking to someone else might make it faster – and in the end that's what you want. Depression is incapacitating; you don't do as much. You waste time.

I would like to believe in an afterlife; it makes things more palatable. But I'm not banking on it.

I am passionate about keeping the human dimension in things. You have to keep the rough edges

and the inconsistencies, that's what makes it interesting. I've always striven to be as sloppy as possible.

The muddling through life is the exciting bit of it.

I am the happiest I've been for a long time.

Listen to Jarvis Cocker

Listening to Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service on BBC makes my Sunday so cool.
I love listening to his talk and his songs selection.

Couple: Jarvis Cocker and Camille Bidault Waddington

I love pictures of them.
As a couple or not anymore.

Inspiration: Phoebe Philo

I love how she dress herself so simple but...cool.
She's back for Celine after stopping her work at Chloe
to take care of her baby for almost (I think) 3 years.
And that's cooler than cool.

Jean Touitou's Dazed digital interview

Jean Touitou, the founder of A.P.C has an interview with Dazed digital.
He gives such a witty answer.

Production or Creation?Procreation

Radical or normal?
Normal is radical now.

Wood or Steel?Concrete, wood and steel.

Roger Moore or Sean Connery?
Roger who? You gotta be kidding me!

Rock or disco? This is too private.

Raw denim jeans or check shirt?
Raw power.God bless

America or god save the queen?Godmiché for the Queens

Evolution or revolution?
At this point, we need a conscience preparation, then we'll see how fast things can be changed.

North or South or East or West?North by North-West, of course!

Cat Power or Lou Doillon?Chan can sing, Lou can laugh.

Rollerskate or skateboard?
Rollerskates before 9 years old. Not more. Beyond this age limit, rollerskates should not be forgiven.

Stones or Beatles ?Stones are cheap pussies, I mean that.

Kenzo or Agnes B?Kenzo from '77 to '81.

Navy blue or beige?
The darkest navy blue.

Art or History?
History is a very good drug. Art died with god

Trotsky or Mao?Dantec !!!! (I know it's easy to say that now, but both had a terrible understanding of Marx. Mao deserved to be terminated with a mountain pick. Trotsky didn't deserve that.)

Kinks or The Who?
Ray Davies' voice and lyrics moves me more than anything.

Elitism or Popularity?
Aiming for mass elitism.

Style or Substance?
Style without substance is too Warholian; five minutes of fun, and ready for the bin... style needs substance - even when an incredible substance has no style, who the fuck cares! We crave for great substance.

Sofia on set

I find people look best while they're working.
These are some pictures of Sofia Coppola at that moment.

My favoite pictures of Charlotte Gainsbourg

Such a beautiful woman with a very strong personality.

Can't take my eyes out of them

Charlotte Gainsbourg and Sofia Coppola are two of the people
who I've been searching for images all the time.
Not only from the clothes they're wearing it's also the from the personalities they have
that make them become the icons for lots of people.
I also like people who's wearing the same things for many many times,
not like other icons that you rarely find them wearing things twice.
Charlotte and Sofia are wearing the same things in different places for many times.
I saw Charlotte wearing the same jeans for over 3 years
and Sofia wearing the same sandle for lots of time in many pictures.
Maybe that's the reason why I like seeing their images....
for figure out if I've seen these pieces before and how they make them differnt.
But no matter what they're wearing
they always look like themself.....that's so inspiring for me.

Lou doillon for Vanessa Bruno

See this on Vanessa bruno site.
I like the beginning.

27.8.09

Lou Doillon

Lou Doillon
French actress, model, musician, and designer.
The daughter of actress Jane Birkin and director Jacques Doillon,
and sister to chanteuse Charlotte Gainsbourg.

I was the hippy teenager. At that moment I would have spat on a girl
who was buying Yves Saint Laurent.
I always laugh today thinking if I ran into myself when I was 15, the other one would slap me.
I sold my soul to the devil.........................................................................

I don't like what my mother was wearing. She was only wearing jeans and T-shirts
when I was born because it was in the ’80s.
I didn’t know the fashionable Jane Birkin in the ’70s...............................................

I was a daughter of a bourgeoisie family, and was kind of ashamed of it
I guess when I was a teenager.
I had dreadlocks and pretended I had no money................................................................

I guess I always wanted to move more than be sexy.
I always wanted to look like a little animal that you wanted to take home
more than the super beautiful girl who’s not moving.
It’s not about impressing people, it’s about moving them.........................................................

I always found my mother extremely moving because she had no boobs.
The girl who has the perfect body, like Betty Paige,
freaks me out............................................................................

I get a bit angry when I talk about history for four hours, and people say,
“Oh we didn’t know you read books.”
I wanna say, “Fuck what did you think?!” ..............................................................
